When IBM decided to go after the datacenter hosting business, they asked Southport Partners to help.
The objective was to open ISSC, their services arm that did internal data center management, to external customers and turn it into an organization that could rival market leaders in data center hosting.
Southport Partners worked closely with key IBM executives and large corporate clients to negotiate and structure key long-term contracts for services including cloud hosting, cyber security, digital business transformation and AI strategies, solutions and models. ISSC become IBM Global Services, now IBM Consulting.
From a modest start with mostly internally generated revenues, IBM Consulting has grown into a $20bn annual revenue business. Southport Partners is proud to have played a part in launching this venture.
